‘The New York Times’ informa que el responsable de la empresa en México le comunicó en un correo electrónico a un abogado de la sede central que la filial mexicana había orquestado un sistema de sobornos para hacerse con el control del mercado mexicano.
Según el mismo ejecutivo, Eduardo Castro-Wright, Wal-Mart de Mexico distribuyó unos US$24 millones para conseguir rápidamente los permisos de construcción.
El abogado conoció la irregularidad porque estaba a cargo de asegurar los permisos de construcción.
Walmart, el mayor vendedor minorista del mundo y el mayor empleador del mundo con más de dos millones de trabajadores, inició su propia investigación, según el New York Times.
