His divorce from the Indianapolis Colts imminent (the team and Manning are holding a press conference at noon ET Wednesday), Peyton Manning readies to embark on a path tread by megastar quarterbacks before him — Johnny Unitas, Joe Namath, Joe Montana, Brett Favre — a journey that will take him from a city and team he became synonymous with to … a currently unknown elsewhere.
Manning will be free to sign anywhere — since he’s being released from his contract, he is not required to wait for the March 13 opening of the NFL free agency market — but expect him to carefully mull his options before he dons his next helmet, one that’s sure to never look quite right after 14 seasons with a horseshoe.

TCF to put grocery coupons on ATM slips
Chicago Sun-Times May 6, 1998 | MARY ELLEN PODMOLIK Take a good look at the receipt an ATM spits out at you next time. It may offer you a way to make up for some of the money you just withdrew.
In an effort to increase store traffic and the use of its automated teller machines, TCF Bank will begin including coupons for groceries and services at the bottom of ATM receipts in machines at 179 Jewel/Osco stores.
Getting the randomly selected coupon requires a transaction, but that includes just asking for an account balance. And unlike coupons issued at the checkout register, shoppers could have the coupons in hand at the start of a shopping trip. The ATM Coupons technology has not been introduced into stores yet. Coupons run the gamut from frozen pizzas and soft drinks to discounts at health clubs and video stores. At Jewel, the coupons also will be tied to Peapod’s online shopping service with Jewel. “It’s a way to drive business at our ATM machines,” said TCF spokesman David Creel. “Hopefully, it will become habit-forming.” In other cities, transaction volume at participating ATMs increased 10 to 12 percent when coupons were offered, said a spokesman for EFT Promotions, the Georgia-based company behind ATM Coupons. It will be up to consumers to decide if the offers merit the cost of a non-TCF customer using the ATM for coupons. TCF charges non-customers a $1.25 fee and a $1 access fee surcharge. go to site free coupons for groceries go to site free coupons for groceries
