Mary Costa sued Disney two years ago seeking $2 million in royalties from the 1986 videocassette release of “Sleeping Beauty.” The settlement was reached as the sides were preparing for trial.
In a similar lawsuit, a Los Angeles jury in March awarded singer Peggy Lee, the voice of Lady in the animated classic “Lady and the Tramp,” $3.8 million for breach of contract, unjust enrichment and unauthorized use of her voice in videocassette.
