Pat Sajak has admitted hosting Wheel of Fortune DRUNK!!!.
He explained that in the show’s earlier format, there was “endless time” between taping. – Maybe he should of read a book to kill time. Build his vocabulary.
“Vanna and I would go across and have two or three and six and then come and do and the last shows and have trouble recognizing the alphabet,”
Sajak said he no longer drinks on the job, but added that those old episodes would be “really good tapes to get hold of.”
ECONOMY DRIVE; Your money.(Features)
Sunday Mirror (London, England) August 9, 2009 Byline: MELANIE WRIGHT CAR insurance premiums are soaring… so it’s more important than ever to shop around.
With the average quote up by 11pc – from pounds 699 to pounds 778, the steepest rise in a decade, according to the AA – you should NEVER renew with your current insurer without checking if you’re getting the best deal. see here 2001 ford focus
Our table on the right shows just how much the cost of insurance premiums can vary. Comprehensive cover for a woman of 25 from Manchester who drives 10,000 miles a year in a 2001-registration Ford Focus would be pounds 493 with Hastings Essential – but an eye-watering pounds 629 with Sainsbury’s.
A man aged 25 would pay pounds 575 with Hastings Essential but pounds 708 with Ibuyeco. The policies assume a five-year no claims discount and a pounds 250 excess – the amount of any claim you pay yourself. Simon Douglas, of AA Insurance, says: “Although the number of accidents on Britain’s roads is thankfully falling, the cost of meeting claims is rising. And fraudulent claims are also putting pressure on premiums.” If you have found the best deal you can, and it still seems high, consider other ways of reducing costs. One is to increase the excess – but bear in mind you will probably end up paying for any smaller repairs yourself, as it won’t be worth making a claim. Newly-qualified drivers can go in for the Pass Plus Scheme, which is designed to make drivers more confident and responsible. It costs pounds 150, but according to uSwitch.com saves new drivers an average of pounds 357 on premiums.
Zurich, Norwich Union, Royal & SunAlliance, Tesco, Direct Line, Churchill, Hastings Direct and the AA are among firms that give Pass Plus discounts.
The Acorn Insurance group last week started a new scheme which uses a tracker-style device to monitor the car – the better you drive the cheaper your premium. See www.payhowyoudrive.co.uk.
Young drivers, and those with cars not worth much, could reduce their cover to third party, fire and theft. But remember, if you have an accident the insurer won’t pay for any repairs needed on your own car.

Office worker Kayley was offered a renewal quote of pounds 943 by Elephant to insure her 2003-registration VW Golf and used comparison site Confused.com to find a better deal.
Kayley, 23, of Pontefract, West Yorks, says: “I didn’t expect my renewal quote to be as high as it was, especially as I’d built up a year’s no claims discount.
“Rather than just accepting it, I checked to see what other insurers would offer me. I ended up getting a quote of just pounds 432 from Hastings Essential for equivalent cover, although I did raise my excess from pounds 200 to pounds 295.
“It only took me a few minutes to do a bit of research and to take out the new policy online. I couldn’t believe how much of a difference in price there was and how much of a saving I’ve made.
“Petrol prices are so steep at the moment that the extra money will definitely come in handy.” CAPTION(S):
