Alejandro Fernández sufre fractura tras caer esquiando

Alejandro Fernández se recupera tras haber sido operado de emergencia en la rodilla izquierda. El cantante sufrió una caída mientras esquiaba, resultando con una fractura.

Debido a la naturaleza de la lesión, Fernández fue intervenido quirúrgicamente de inmediato, en una operación que duro poco más de dos horas y que resultó exitosa, informó la oficina del cantante mediante un comunicado de prensa. Ahora se encuentra en reposo acompañado de su familia.

Una vez recuperado, el cantante realizará terapia física durante seis semanas para fortalecer su rodilla.

“Gracias por todas las muestras de cariño que he recibido, estoy bien, por razones médicas debo de guardar reposo y no puedo apoyar la pierna. Estaré realizando mis terapias para estar de vuelta en los escenarios lo más pronto posible. Afortunadamente ya me operaron, ahora lo más importante es la rehabilitación, así que con mucho ánimo para estar nuevamente al 100%.”, declaró el cantante.

Daily News (Los Angeles, CA) June 5, 1996 | Daily News Trips to London, Paris, Las Vegas and season tickets to the New West Symphony are expected to bring a crowd to Saturday’s fund-raiser for the Conejo Valley chapter of the UCLA Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center.

Nancy Israel, president of the local chapter, said money raised will be used to support on-going research into more effective ways of treating the often deadly disease. Saturday’s event also marks the local chapter’s 20th year of raising money for the center.

“Our money is often used for seed grants. Most researchers can’t apply for money until they have at least a year of data. That’s what we help support,” Israel said.

In addition, Israel said the evening will be used to celebrate the fact that the Columbia Cancer Center at Los Robles Hospital/Medical Center in Thousand Oaks has been chosen as one of 102 nationwide to participate in clinical trials of cancer treatments developed at UCLA.

“It’s wonderful that as a result of the studies (at UCLA) our fund-raising dollars are coming back into the community,” she said.

Saturday’s Gala starts with cocktails at 6:30 p.m., and dinner is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. at the Hyatt Westlake Plaza, 880 S. Westlake Blvd. Tickets to the event are $100. go to site los robles hospital

During the course of the evening, Israel said prizes will be given away, including trips to London, Paris, the Gulf Shores area of Florida and Las Vegas. Other prizes include a weekend at Mission Hills Country Club, season tickets to the New West Symphony, bicycles and roller skating packages.

All items were donated and winners must be present to collect their prize.
