Arrestan a El Varón de la Bachata en aeropuerto Kennedy

NUEVA YORK._ El popular bachatero Edward José (El Varón de la Bachata), fue arrestado al mediodía de este martes en el aeropuerto internacional John F. Kennedy, cuando salía con todos sus músicos a la República Dominicana supuestamente por tratar de sacar una gran cantidad de dólares. Se dijo que los integrantes de la agrupación también habrían sido detenidos.

El artista, que agotó una exitosa gira de varias semanas en Nueva York y otros estados del noroeste de Estados Unidos, se disponía a abordar un vuelo de una línea comercial con destino a Santo Domingo, cuando fue interceptado por oficiales de la Policía de Protección de Fronteras y Aduanas (CBP).

Una fuente de la investigación confirmó la información a DL, pidiendo anonimato.

Dice que El Varón de la Bachata, estaría siendo interrogado acerca de una gran cantidad de dólares que sacaba de Nueva York hacia la República Dominicana. El informante no especificó el monto, pero recordó que la ley vigente estipula que a menos que no haya justificación, nadie puede salir o entrar a territorio norteamericano con más de $9.999 dólares o de lo contrario, será interceptado, detenido, interrogado e investigado sobre la procedencia del dinero.

Al cierre de esta nota, el bachatero seguía bajo interrogatorio de agentes de la CBP y en la oficina de prensa de esa agencia federal no se pudo confirmar la información por estar cerradas después de las 5:00 de la tarde.

La información también fue confirmada por el manejador del artista en Estados Unidos, Marcos Casilla, propietario de la empresa Promy Music, quien aclaró que el artista está detenido junto a otra persona que viajaba junto al bachatero y no con todos los músicos.

“Es cierto, El Varón está detenido en el aeropuerto Kennedy, pero es él y otra persona. No son los músicos, son dos personas que están detenidas”, añadió el promotor.

Explicó que se dirigía a la terminal para verificar la situación, empero, señaló que probablemente se deba a que El Varón trataba de salir con unos $12.000 dólares o más. “Organicé la gira, pero no vino con visa tramitada por mi empresa, tienes que hablar con quien le gestionó el visado a la agrupación”.

Rehusó identificar también al promotor que tramitó el visado al bachatero.

El Varón de la Bachata se presentó en espectáculos en vivo, conciertos, discotecas, restaurantes y fiestas privadas durante su estadía en Estados Unidos. Con una voz similar a la de Anthony Santos, el bachatero tiene varios temas pegados en el mercado nacional e internacional y es una de las voces del género de mayor arraigo en el público dominicano y de otros países.

Entre esos éxitos está “La Despedida”, un tema que ha ganado gran respaldo en el público internacional.

While it’s aggravating to have an otherwise well-behaved PC start to go bad, consider this a gentle warning. You haven’t lost any data, and your computer didn’t fail at the moment you needed it the most.
