Her job as secretary of state may leave little time for relaxation, but Hillary Clinton squeezed in a few moments of fun Saturday evening while attending the Summit of the Americas in Cartagena, Colombia.
Photos showed the top U.S. diplomat dancing and enjoying a bottled beverage at Cafe Havana, a bar described by the Lonely Planet travel guide as the perfect location to “shake your rump.”
An Example of the “Watch this!” Attitude in Action.
Air Safety Week February 22, 1999 Our contributing editor Rudolf Kapustin recalled a perfect illustration of those two most dangerous words in flying safety, “Watch this!” mentioned in the brief at page 9. The case involved the fatal 1993 crash of a GP Express Airlines twin-engine Beechcraft C-99 at Shelton, Neb. The probable cause issued by the National Transportation Safety Board was blunt: the accident was caused by “the deliberate disregard for FAA regulations, GP Express procedures, and prudent concerns for safety by the two pilots in their decision to execute an aerobatic maneuver during a check ride flight.” We should add that the aircraft’s discrete transponder code was terminated shortly before the crash. When the pilot in command rolled the aircraft, he did not have sufficient altitude to recover. Herewith, an extract from the cockpit voice recorder: barrelrollgoogle.com barrel roll google here barrel roll google
Legend: PIC – pilot in command; CP – copilot Time & Intra-cockpit Source Communication 1148:42 PIC You never rolled any airplane?
1149:43 CP Zero point zero
1149:45 PIC Well #, never rolled a ninety nine (Beechcraft C-99)
1149:51 CP Done a four oh two (Cessna 402, another twin-engine model)
1149:52 PIC None. One fifty twos, one seventy twos (other Cessnas). That’s when I knew it was time to get out of instructing. Those slugs, they don’t roll very well at all. We were doing aileron rolls where you just sit like this and crank, and they come around kinda hard the barrel roll’s a lot easier on, uh, they don’t have enough poop to barrel roll, one seventy two’s not too bad, just where, you’s kinda nose down. I guess we’ve got enough speed right now, and you just kinda start coming in like this (manipulates controls) pullin’ up –
1150:28 PIC And keep positive Gs on it. Take it all the way around, unload –
1150:35 PIC And then point it straight for the ground.
