The brick-happy folks at Lego have scored the license for The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings and are preparing to debut the first sets this summer.
We are giving you a peek at the first sets, scheduled to hit shelves in June. And we can say that even a certain slimy, scheming pasty-looking creep looks downright cute as a minifig.
Aside from Gollum, the initial LOTR-themed sets will include all the members of the Fellowship as well as the baddies they encounter on their Middle-earth odyssey. The will be out in June and will be unveiled at the upcoming Toy Fair in New York. The first sets of Hobbit-related bricks will hit at the end of the year, coinciding with the Dec. 14 ’12 release of Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey, the first of his two-part prequel.
