About the artists:

Girlz Talk
(www.myspace.com/girlztalk1)
Judy Santos and Marlyn Jimenez are taking bachata to new heights. This exceptional New York-based female duo is gearing up to achieve levels of success similar to those acquired by male artists in the bachata community. They are currently in the studio with super-producer SP (Notch and Toby Love) working on their upcoming release.

Alih Jey
(www.myspace.com/alihjey)
Latin Grammy-nominated Alih Jey is a musical powerhouse whose most recent independent EP, Necia, is a delicious sampling of bright pop-rock, showcasing her colorful persona. A sought-after songwriter, Alih Jey has placed songs on albums by artists such as Janina (“Ya No Mas”), Ednita Nazario (“Real”) and Rogelio Martinez (“Dos en Uno”). Alih recently kicked off her U.S. tour at Columbia University.

Bea Ba
(www.myspace.com/beabamusic)

Currently working on a third album, Evolve, scheduled for release in 2010, Bea Ba has been touring the world, attracting fans with her homegrown New York and Argentinean style of rock. Influenced by musical greats such as Led Zeppelin, Janis Joplin and Sumo, Bea Ba has a unique sound.

Cristal Marie
(www.myspace.com/cristalmariemusic
)
Casandra Award-winner Cristal Marie is mostly known for singing the title song of Telemundo’s “Pecados Ajenos” (The Sins of Others), composing the soundtrack for the movie Sin Social, earning second place in Berklee's Songwriter in Spanish Contest with her original Bachatatronic song "Confieso" and for being one of the ten finalists of the Santo Domingo Songwriter Festival with “Mariposas” (Butterflies), aimed at supporting the fight against domestic violence. Her latest album, Cristal, contains the hits “Tu y Yo” and “Esta Noche Tengo Ganas.”

Eljuri
(www.myspace.com/eljuri)

Released in the U.S. and Mexico, Eljuri’s En Paz is an evocative album with fresh Latin sounds and uplifting lyrics, dedicated to universal truths and global rhythms. Raised in the cultural melting-pot of New York City, Eljuri shares her Ecuadorian roots within her catchy lyrics and memorable vocals without being showy.

Afrobeta
(www.myspace.com/afrobeta)

Afrobeta's karmic musical affair began in June 2006 when Tony "Smurphio" Laurencio met his muse and musical partner, the fiercely spunky, Cristina "Cuci Amador" Garcia. Their mutual love of classic songwriting, Cuban pastries and dancing until 5 a.m. inspired them to make music together. With their cosmic mix of space funk and ghetto-tech house, Afrobeta's sound has spread feverishly, earning the dynamic duo the title of champions at the Village Voice-sponsored 2009 Battle of the Bands.
