Afrobeta
(www.myspace.com/afrobeta)
Afrobeta's karmic musical affair
began in June 2006 when Tony "Smurphio" Laurencio
met his muse and musical partner, the fiercely spunky,
Cristina "Cuci Amador" Garcia. Their mutual
love of classic songwriting, Cuban pastries and dancing
until 5 a.m. inspired them to make music together. With
their cosmic mix of space funk and ghetto-tech house,
Afrobeta's sound has spread feverishly, earning the
dynamic duo the title of champions at the Village Voice-sponsored
2009 Battle of the Bands. |
