| If you are the type of person that enjoys paying careful attention to every single detail, then MY LIFE IN RUINS is the movie for you. Every minimal item, fact or dialogue presented in the film is there for a reason and is revisited later on at some point in the film. So keep you eyes and ears open, since this is the only true way you will fully enjoy this film. Consider this to be a “smart” movie; However if this all sounds like too much work, it is best to spend your time on other film this weekend. The plot moves along in the style of an 80’s romantic-comedy, it’s a series of events followed by another series of events, so that not too much time is spent on one place. My only complaint is that even though this film is labeled a romantic-comedy, be prepared to enjoy the romance more than actual comedy. The big laughs seem to lack a bit with the exception of a few good memorable jokes, make sure to pay close attention to characters names (like with everything else in this film, it’s there for a specific reason.)
