Carolina Ovalle Arango, known to fans as "Carolina La O" (born on April 12, 1975 in Manizales, Colombia) is a Colombian Salsa singer. She was a member of the salsa/cumbia group Alquimia until 1999, when she released her own solo record, El Son de Ahora, with a rhythm similar to the work she did while in Alquimia. Two years later, in 2001 Carolina returned with Dulce Veneno, the title of her first single, and a style of her own. Dulce Veneno was an album featuring straight-up salsa fusioned with cumbia Colombian-style, ballads, and boleros. The album was filled out by including remixes of the title song, Dulce Veneno in ranchera, ballad, and the original salsa format. Although weaker than her first solo effort, it contains a stunning song "Sabe a Chocolate". A year later she came out with self-titled Carolina, an attempt at producing generic dance music. In 2004, she was featured on the Latin American television hit, Protagonistas de la Fama VIP. Carolina is touring for her latest album,"Reencuentro Con Los Gemelos" , released in 2009. The first single "El Ultimo Beso" is already a Hit in Latin America. |
